Disabling the WYSIWYG editor in WordPress 2.9.1

I’ve come across some cool plugins that clash with the WYSIWYG for WordPress, and thus they require you to disable it or they won’t work. I had some trouble finding out how to do it, but I eventually found it.

It’s pretty simple actually, if you know where to find it…

  • Click your name in the upper right hand corner of the administrator interface.
  • Under the first section called Personal Options there is a checkbox labeled Visual Editor. Make sure it’s checked.
  • Click Update Settings at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

And that’s how you disable the WordPress WYSIWYG.
